Executive Summary

Luv Tulsidas is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Techolution, a New York-based enterprise AI and innovation consulting firm that builds custom AI systems for healthcare, government, retail and financial services clients. His central argument, repeated across two books and a great deal of conference speaking, is that most enterprise AI fails not for technical reasons but for organisational ones — companies buy capability without changing how they decide, iterate or absorb failure. The phrase he has built the firm’s identity around is “innovation done right”. His own background gives the argument some weight: before founding Techolution he spent roughly fifteen years at Hertz, where he joined in 2000 and built the rental giant’s e-commerce platform from nothing into a channel generating billions in revenue — an enterprise digital transformation done from the inside, at a company that had every reason not to attempt one.

Career Highlights

  • Joined Hertz in 2000 and built its e-commerce platform from the ground up into a multibillion-dollar revenue channel, rising to Global Director of Application Development.

  • Techolution named to the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in 2019, roughly four years after formation.
  • Received Inc.’s Best in Business award in 2022, in the “innovation done right” category.
  • Won the AIConics trophy at the AI Summit New York in 2023, with Techolution named AI Solution Provider of the Year.
  • Author of “Failing Fast? The Ten Secrets to Succeed Faster”, published by Forbes Books after a three-year project.

Professional Journey

Tulsidas grew up on a small island off Africa and, by his own account, did not finish high school — yet went on to earn an engineering degree from a university in the United States. That sequence is the origin of the theme he has returned to ever since: that the conventional path is not the only viable one, and that the ability to fail quickly and keep moving matters more than credentials or planning.

He joined Hertz in 2000. The assignment that defined the next fifteen years was e-commerce. In 2000 a global rental car company’s online presence was a brochure; the reservation systems, the fleet and yield management, the franchise network and the counter operations had all been built for telephone and airport-desk business. Tulsidas built the e-commerce platform from the ground up and it grew into a channel carrying billions of dollars in revenue. He moved up through development and architecture roles into Global Director of Application Development, which meant the transformation problem shifted from writing the system to running an organisation that could keep changing it.

That experience is what he took into consulting. He founded Techolution in the mid-2010s in New York, positioning it not as a body shop or a generic digital agency but as an innovation consultancy for enterprises attempting exactly the kind of change he had led at Hertz. The growth was immediate enough to land the firm on the Inc. 500 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies in 2019, roughly four years after it started. In 2022 Inc. gave it a Best in Business award under the heading of innovation done right — the phrase Tulsidas had already adopted as the firm’s organising idea.

The pivot to artificial intelligence came as the enterprise AI market opened, and Techolution repositioned around building production AI systems for regulated industries rather than experiments. The recognition arrived quickly: at the AI Summit in New York in 2023 the firm took the AIConics trophy as AI Solution Provider of the Year. Tulsidas’s public framing of the work is consistently about deployment rather than capability — the difference between an AI demonstration and an AI system a bank or a hospital can actually run.

Alongside running the firm he has built a second practice as an author and speaker. “Failing Fast? The Ten Secrets to Succeed Faster” was published by Forbes Books after what he has described as a three-year project, and codifies the iteration discipline he argues enterprises lack. His second book, “Up, Up, and AI: Strategies to Lead, Adapt, and Thrive in Changing Times”, takes the argument into the AI era, focusing on how leaders should combine machine capability with creativity, intuition and emotional judgment, and drawing on case studies from real enterprise deployments; it received a silver award from the Nonfiction Authors Association in June 2026. He is an Executive Council member and contributing author at CEOWORLD magazine, keynotes industry conferences, and appears regularly on business and technology podcasts, where the message is the same one: the failure mode of enterprise AI is organisational, not technical.
