Professional Journey
Zvibel studied mathematics and computer science at Tel Aviv University and spent five years as a software engineer in the Israel Defense Forces, leaving with the rank of Captain.
His formative commercial experience was at XIV Storage Systems, where he was principal software architect and a member of the founding technical team. IBM acquired XIV in 2007, and Zvibel stayed on for several years managing XIV’s teams inside IBM. He then co-founded Fusic, a social startup, where he led research and development.
He co-founded WEKA in 2013; Maor Ben-Dayan, now its Chief Architect, is also listed as a co-founder. The company builds data infrastructure software for AI, high-performance computing and scientific workloads. Zvibel first served as CTO and now leads the company as CEO, responsible for its long-term vision and strategy, working alongside Executive Chairman Amit Pandey.
The company’s 2024 was its most visible. In May it raised $140 million in a Series E led by Valor Equity Partners at a $1.6 billion post-money valuation, with every participant an existing investor increasing its position; WEKA said it was then supporting more than 300 of the world’s largest AI and GPU deployments and counted 12 of the Fortune 50 as customers. In a February 2025 letter Zvibel reported that WEKA had passed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and more than doubled revenue for the third year running, and set out a reorganisation of its go-to-market functions for the AI market. Through 2026 WEKA has continued to release products, including NeuralMesh 6 and WEKApod 3, and in July 2026 he appointed Shanta Kohli as Chief Marketing Officer.
