Lennie Sliwinski
Founder & CEO · Trusted Health
Lennie Sliwinski founded Trusted, Inc. — trading as Trusted Health — in 2017 and leads it as chief executive and board member. The company runs two connected businesses: a marketplace matching travel and per-diem nurses to assignments, and Trusted Works, an enterprise workforce platform that hospitals use to forecast demand and fill shifts internally. Trusted has raised roughly $175 million, ranked as the thirteenth-largest US travel nurse staffing firm on 2025 revenue, and in August 2026 acquired the AI scheduling company ShiftOS.

Executive Summary
Lennie Sliwinski founded Trusted, Inc. in 2017 and has run it as chief executive since, also sitting on its board. Trusted began as a marketplace for travel nurses — matching clinicians to hospital assignments with far less friction than the traditional agency model — and has since built a second business on top of it. Trusted Works is enterprise software sold directly to hospitals and health systems, letting them forecast labour demand, fill shifts from their own internal float pools and reach the external marketplace only when they must. That structure is what distinguishes Trusted from pure staffing agencies on one side and pure scheduling software vendors on the other: it monetises both the labour supply and the tooling that decides when supply is needed. The company has raised roughly $175 million from a mix of venture investors and health-system strategics, ranked thirteenth among US travel nurse staffing firms on 2025 revenue, and in August 2026 bought ShiftOS to fold agentic AI scheduling into the Works platform.

Professional Journey
Before founding Trusted, Sliwinski spent three years as Director of Marketing at Hired, the San Francisco marketplace that matched software engineers with employers through a reverse-auction model. The pattern transferred directly: a high-value, chronically short profession, an opaque intermediary layer taking large placement fees, and candidates with little visibility into what a role actually paid. He left Hired in March 2017 and founded Trusted that year, applying the same marketplace logic to travel nursing.
The first product was the Marketplace — a platform where nurses could see pay packages transparently, apply without an agency recruiter as gatekeeper, and manage licensing and credentialing digitally. That business scaled through the late 2010s and then through the acute staffing crisis of the pandemic years, when hospital reliance on travel labour and the associated cost spiked sharply. In November 2021 Trusted closed a $94 million Series C led by Greenspring Associates and simultaneously disclosed a $55 million Series B it had never announced, taking total funding to roughly $175 million. The investor list is unusual for a staffing business in that it mixes conventional venture firms with the customers themselves — Texas Medical Center, Mercy Health and Intermountain Ventures among them.
The strategic move that followed was Trusted Works, a workforce platform sold to health systems rather than to nurses. Its argument to hospitals is that external agency spend is a symptom of poor internal visibility: if a system can forecast demand accurately and surface open shifts to its own staff first, it buys less premium labour. Mercy’s Works-powered internal shift-pickup programme was recognised at the 2025 Modern Healthcare Innovators Awards, with reported figures of more than 721,000 shifts picked up and $60 million saved.
Sliwinski has since pushed the platform toward autonomous operation. In 2026 Trusted integrated Mayo Clinic’s CareCast demand-forecasting model into Works, and in August 2026 it acquired the technology, intellectual property and assets of ShiftOS, whose product Holly handles scheduling tasks agentically rather than as bolt-on AI features on a conventional scheduling tool. Terms were not disclosed. The company now operates with separate presidents for the Marketplace and Works lines reporting to Sliwinski, alongside functional leaders for finance, people, legal, engineering, growth and client services.
