Executive Summary

Kevin Clark is President and Chief Executive Officer of AKRS Equipment Solutions, a John Deere dealer group headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, with 27 stores across Nebraska and into Kansas. He has led it since it was formed in 2020, when three Nebraska dealerships merged: Green Line Equipment, Stutheit Implement and Plains Equipment Group. Clark had been chief executive of Plains. At the time he said the size and scale of the combined company mattered as the industry changed with new technologies and services. AKRS now says it sells more John Deere combines than any other dealer in the country. Clark’s career before that covered several industries and more than 25 countries, and in August 2026 he joined the board of Associated Equipment Distributors, the equipment dealers’ trade association.

Career Highlights

  • President and CEO of AKRS Equipment Solutions since the 2020 merger that created it.
  • Previously CEO of Plains Equipment Group, one of the three dealerships combined to form AKRS.
  • Leads a 27-store dealer group that reports selling more than 700 combines a year on average, which it says is more than any other US dealer.
  • Appointed to the Associated Equipment Distributors board as an at-large director, effective August 2026.
  • Director for the Iowa-Nebraska region of the North American Equipment Dealers Association and a member of its audit and finance committee.
  • Earlier career across equipment distribution, manufacturing, transportation, finance and consumer products, with work in more than 25 countries.

Professional Journey

Clark’s career before farm equipment ranged widely. Trade press describes it as spanning equipment distribution, manufacturing, transportation, finance and consumer products, with work in more than 25 countries. It began with a business degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and an MBA in finance from DePaul University in Chicago.

He came into John Deere retail as chief executive of Plains Equipment Group. In February 2020 Plains announced a merger with two other Nebraska Deere dealers, Green Line Equipment and Stutheit Implement, to form AKRS Equipment Solutions. Together the three had 150 years of combined service in the industry. Russ Rerucha became chairman and Clark became president and CEO. The new company started with 27 dealerships across Nebraska and part of Kansas, based in Lincoln. At the time Clark said that “the size and scale of AKRS is important as the industry changes with new technologies and services.”

AKRS has kept that 27-store footprint. It describes itself as the country’s largest combine dealer, selling more than 700 a year on average, with more than 20 precision agriculture specialists and one of the largest new and used machinery inventories in the United States.

Clark has also taken on roles in the dealer trade associations. He is a director for the Iowa-Nebraska region of the North American Equipment Dealers Association and sits on its audit and finance committee. In August 2026 he joined the board of Associated Equipment Distributors as an at-large director. He said he aimed to make sure members “are heard from and supported.”
