Professional Journey

Raguin grew up in Boston. Crunchtime says he held executive roles in marketing, sales and product management at several public, early-stage and high-growth companies, including Ariba and Seismic.

In 2001 he was one of the founders of Guidewire Software, a Delaware company that grew into a major supplier of core systems to property and casualty insurers. Its founders’ agreement names six: Raguin, Marcus Ryu, Ken Branson, John Seybold, Mark Shaw and James Kwak. Raguin was chief executive from the early years; he signed offer letters as CEO in 2002 and corporate documents as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2007 and 2008. In September 2010 he and the board agreed that he would step down as President, CEO and director. He stayed on as a Vice President to support the transition until February 2011, and Marcus Ryu became chief executive in December 2010. Guidewire listed on the New York Stock Exchange in January 2012.

After Guidewire he worked with younger Boston-area companies as a board member. SEC filings from December 2013 list him as a director of peerTransfer, the international payments company now called Flywire, and of ownCloud, the file-sharing software company.

About three years before 2023 he joined the board of Crunchtime, a Boston company that makes back-of-house software for restaurant chains. Its customers include Five Guys, Jersey Mike’s, Wingstop and Chili’s. The board named him Chief Executive Officer in February 2023. Morad Elhafed of Battery Ventures, a Crunchtime director, said at the time that Raguin had already been guiding the leadership team from the board. Crunchtime had grown through the acquisitions of Zenput, Squadle and Cosmos 21. In February 2024 it said it had passed $100 million in annual recurring revenue.

In June 2025 Crunchtime and QSR Automations agreed to merge, adding kitchen display systems to Crunchtime’s inventory, labour and operations software, with Raguin leading the combined company. The merged company has since released products that link the two. In 2026 it added AI capabilities and, in September, a connected-kitchen suite that shows operational tasks on kitchen display screens next to incoming orders. It says it now serves more than 850 brands across over 150,000 locations.

Outside work, Raguin has raced mountain bikes for many years in Masters category races around the Northeast, finishing on the podium several times. He also trail runs, which he says helps him manage stress and think through problems.
