Professional Journey
Curtis joined Rural Sourcing in 2008 as Vice President of Client Services. The company had been set up by Monty Hamilton on the premise that onshore teams in small and mid-sized US metro areas, outside the big technology hubs, could deliver software work for clients. She spent the next 17 years in its executive team, moving into the COO and President roles. During those years the company changed hands and names. Bain Capital Double Impact bought a controlling interest in 2019 and backed its expansion into new talent hubs, including Baton Rouge, Buffalo, Milwaukee and Madison. The business renamed itself Sparq in March 2023. Bain later sold the majority of its stake to Harvest Partners Ascend and reinvested alongside it.
Sparq announced her appointment as CEO on 28 October 2025, as part of a succession plan in which Hamilton would retire as chief executive on 1 January 2026 and stay on as chairman. She took the role on that date and joined the board. Hypepotamus quoted her calling Hamilton “a coach, advisor, and a friend” whose partnership had prepared her “as an entrepreneur to look across the business.” The same announcement named Jason Paru as chief financial officer, and Hypepotamus also reported Kyle Boston joining as chief growth officer.
As CEO she has moved Sparq’s pitch toward what she calls a data-first rather than digital-first strategy. Her argument is that many enterprises struggle with AI not because the technology is immature but because a decade of rushed digitisation left their data architecture unable to support it. “To become differentiated you need to have better processes, more efficient ways of doing business, [and] a more thoughtful approach to your customer experience,” she told Hypepotamus. The company now describes itself as delivering modular, AI-enabled business and technology solutions across product, engineering, AI, data and analytics, with delivery teams across the US and Latin America.
