CEO & Co-Founder · SafeBreach
Guy Bejerano is CEO and co-founder of SafeBreach, the breach-and-attack-simulation company he started with Itzik Kotler in Tel Aviv in September 2014. He came to it from the defender's side — Chief Security Officer of LivePerson, CISO of Ness Technologies, and information security and red team operations in the Israeli Air Force — and founded the company out of the frustration of being unable to prove that a security programme was working.

Executive Summary
Guy Bejerano is CEO and co-founder of SafeBreach, which he started with Itzik Kotler in Tel Aviv in September 2014 and which helped define the breach-and-attack-simulation category. The company’s premise comes directly out of his own frustration as a security chief: he could run a security programme but not demonstrate that it worked. SafeBreach answers that by continuously simulating real attacker behaviour against an organisation’s own controls, so that a security leader can say what is actually blocked rather than what is meant to be. Bejerano describes himself as having been a non-traditional CISO, interested less in locking the business down than in what security could do to let it move faster — and that framing, security as a source of evidence rather than of veto, is what the product sells.

Professional Journey
Bejerano spent the first part of his career on the defending side. He led information security and red team operations in the Israeli Air Force, then moved into corporate security leadership as Chief Information Security Officer of Ness Technologies and afterwards as Chief Security Officer of LivePerson — a cloud business, which pushed him toward security programmes designed for services that could not simply be walled off.
It was in the CISO seat that the idea for SafeBreach formed. Looking back on the company’s first decade in March 2024, Bejerano described the problem as one of proof: he had a security programme but no way to show it was effective, and he wanted leaders to be able to “make data-driven decisions — no more guessing.” The complementary half of that insight came from Itzik Kotler, an offensive-security researcher whose position was that attacker knowledge ought to be commoditised and made available to everybody rather than held inside a narrow circle. The two met, and by their own account knew within minutes they were onto something.
They founded SafeBreach in Tel Aviv in September 2014, with Bejerano as CEO and Kotler as CTO. A $4 million seed round followed in July 2015, backed by Sequoia Capital and the Israeli security founder Shlomo Kramer, and the company scaled through four further rounds: Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Deutsche Telekom and Maverick Ventures in a $15 million Series A in 2016; Draper Nexus leading a further $15 million in 2018; $19 million in 2020; and a $53.5 million Series D in November 2021 led by Sonae IM and Israel Growth Partners. The company moved its headquarters to Sunnyvale while retaining its Israeli engineering roots.
More than a decade in, Bejerano remains CEO of an independent, privately held company that is still shipping. Its 2026 announcements include a closed-loop detection-validation partnership with Anvilogic, AI-agent research presented at Black Hat 2026 and DEF CON 34, and recognition as a best-in-category continuous threat exposure management platform in an industry awards programme.
Education
No education record could be established. The previous version of this profile stated a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Academic College of Tel-Aviv-Yaffo; that claim appears only in aggregator databases and on none of the company, editorial or encyclopaedic sources checked in this pass, so it has been removed rather than repeated.
