Executive Summary

Dean M. Leavitt is Founder and CEO of Boost Payment Solutions, a B2B payments technology company he founded in 2009 to address commercial payment needs that consumer-derived card products had never served well. Boost builds patented straight-through processing and rules-based pricing technology that lets enterprise suppliers accept commercial cards without the manual handling and cost that normally deters them, and now operates in more than 45 countries while enabling cross-border card payments to suppliers in over 180. Leavitt came to it after more than three decades in electronic payments across public and private companies, including a bankruptcy-court-appointed turnaround role.

Career Highlights

  • Founded Boost Payment Solutions in 2009; the company operates in more than 45 countries and supports cross-border card payments to suppliers in over 180.
  • Raised a $22 million Series C led by Invictus Growth Partners, following a $12 million Series B led by Mosaik Partners and North Atlantic Capital.
  • Secured US utility patents for Boost Intercept, the company’s straight-through processing technology, and Dynamic Boost, its rules-based payment engine.
  • Built global partnerships with Mastercard, Visa, American Express, J.P. Morgan, FIS, SAP Taulia, Conferma Pay, Esker and TransferMate.
  • Boost reported processing over $12 billion in 2023 with a 195% year-on-year increase in transactions, and a further 148% increase in transactions processed in 2024.
  • Boost named repeatedly to the Inc. 5000, most recently at No. 3,245 on the 2026 list, and won four Stevie Awards at the 2025 American Business Awards including Company of the Year in Financial Services.
  • Serves on the Global and European Advisory Boards of Commercial Payments International; previously served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Electronic Transactions Association.

Professional Journey

Leavitt built more than 30 years of leadership experience across public and private companies in the electronic payments industry before founding Boost. He founded and served as President of US Data Capture, a New York-based credit card processing company serving the institutional marketplace, where he signed card acceptance agreements with hospitals, universities, municipalities and supermarkets that had not previously considered accepting cards at all. He went on to serve as Chairman and CEO of publicly traded US Wireless Data, and then, immediately before founding Boost, as the bankruptcy court-appointed Interim President of Cynergy Data, leading that credit card processing company through its restructuring and sale.

In 2009 he founded Boost Payment Solutions to build purpose-built technology for the B2B side of the card business, on the view that repeatedly adapting consumer payment products for commercial use had failed. The company’s products reflect that: Boost Intercept automates the capture and processing of virtual card payments on the supplier side, Dynamic Boost applies rules-based pricing to make acceptance economic, and Boost 100 aims to let a buyer pay every supplier by card. Both Intercept and Dynamic Boost are covered by issued US utility patents.

Growth has been funded externally rather than organically. Boost raised a $12 million Series B led by Mosaik Partners and North Atlantic Capital, then a $22 million Series C led by Invictus Growth Partners to accelerate global adoption. Over the same period Leavitt signed network and bank partnerships with Mastercard, Visa, American Express, J.P. Morgan, BMO Harris, FIS and Conferma Pay, and integrations with software and services firms including SAP Taulia, Esker, OneSource Virtual, GHX and TransferMate. The company reported more than $12 billion processed in 2023 on a 195% year-on-year transaction increase, and a further 148% transaction increase in 2024, and has appeared on the Inc. 5000 in multiple years, most recently at No. 3,245 in 2026.

Alongside Boost, Leavitt serves on both the Global and European Advisory Boards of Commercial Payments International and previously served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Electronic Transactions Association. He is a frequent speaker at electronic payments industry events, and sits on the Board of Trustees of the JCCA.
