Professional Journey
Larsen’s early senior career was in large-scale enterprise software field organizations. As President of SAP North America he led the US subsidiary’s go-to-market across sales, pre-sales, consulting, industry marketing, alliances and channels, which Model N later described as a $1.2 billion operation with more than 2,000 employees. He joined TIBCO Software in 2003 and was its Executive Vice President, World-wide Field Operations, where, in Model N’s account, he moved a 400-strong customer-facing organization from a technology-led to a solution- and customer-centric engagement model. A transition agreement filed with TIBCO’s quarterly report records that he left in the spring of 2007.
He then spent 2008 as President and Chief Operating Officer of Allegro Development Corporation, an energy and risk management software company, and in September 2009 joined Progress Software to run global field operations. He was appointed as a Senior Vice President according to his initial SEC filing there, and Model N’s proxy later gave the title as Executive Vice President, Global Field Operations; he held the role until January 2012. After most of 2012 consulting for private equity firms, he became Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of the Mobile Business App Division at Infragistics, a maker of user-interface development tools.
In October 2013 Model N, then newly listed on the New York Stock Exchange, hired him as Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer; founder and CEO Zack Rinat said the company was addressing “recent sales execution challenges”. A year later he became Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer, and he was one of Model N’s named executive officers until his employment ended on 31 December 2016.
In May 2017 AvePoint, the Jersey City-based Microsoft cloud data management company, named him Chief Revenue Officer to lead its global sales organization, as part of a wider reshaping of its executive team. He is now Chief Revenue Officer of Minitab, whose statistical software was first developed at Penn State University by co-founder and Chairwoman Barbara Ryan and two colleagues, and where he works alongside CEO Jeffrey T. Slovin and President and CFO Joshua Zable.
