Chris Donus is Chief Executive Officer and President of Flash, the Austin company whose cloud-based operating system connects and controls garage, surface lot, event and valet parking locations and links them, along with EV charging, to the apps drivers already use. He became chief executive in February 2025, less than a year and a half after joining as chief financial officer. Much of his career has been in finance and operating roles at mobility companies. He was a founding executive of the car rental start-up Silvercar and later ran Lyft’s Express Drive fleet business.

Professional Journey

Flash says Donus held earlier leadership positions at Freescale Semiconductor, Hertz and Lucent Technologies, without giving dates or titles. SEC records show him as an assistant treasurer of several Hertz subsidiaries in 2007, signing amendments to the company’s asset-based credit facility.

In 2012 he joined the car rental start-up Silvercar as one of its founding executives. He was chief financial officer from 2012 to 2015, and the company’s early Form D filings list him among its executive officers. He became president in 2015 and also took on the chief operating officer role in 2017, staying until 2018. He then ran Express Drive at Lyft as vice president and business unit leader. Flash describes it as a fleet business and puts it at more than $400 million in rental revenue and more than $2 billion in Lyft rides. After Lyft he spent three years as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Wheel Health, a venture-backed telehealth platform developer, leading its fundraising rounds.

Flash named him chief financial officer in October 2023. Founded in 2011 as Klever Logic and backed by Vista Equity Partners and L Catterton, Flash sells parking operators a cloud operating system for their facilities and connects those facilities to the consumer apps drivers use to find and pay for parking and charging. In June 2024 he was made President, responsible for day-to-day operations, for growing the company’s digital demand network, EV charging and parking platform, and for its regional branch organisation. In February 2025 he succeeded Dan Sharplin, chief executive since 2019, who stayed on as executive chairman. Flash now reports more than 16,000 parking assets on its platform and about a billion transactions a year.
