He joined United Technologies in 2005 and held legal roles including vice president and counsel for Pratt & Whitney’s commercial engines business and vice president and general counsel of UTC Aerospace Systems.

From February 2015 to January 2017 he was chief of staff to UTC’s chairman and chief executive. He then ran Pratt & Whitney’s commercial engines business as president until 2019, and in January 2020 became president of Pratt & Whitney, the aircraft engine maker, a role he held through the merger of UTC and Raytheon that created Raytheon Technologies.

In March 2022 he became chief operating officer of Raytheon Technologies, and from March 2023 president and chief operating officer of the renamed RTX, joining the board in December 2023. RTX says that as chief operating officer he managed the realignment of the company from four business segments to three, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon.

He became chief executive in May 2024 and, after executive chairman Gregory Hayes stepped down, chairman in April 2025.
