Professional Journey

Zheng started out as a finance consultant at J.P. Morgan Chase before moving into logistics. In 2003 he joined Air-City Inc., an international air freight business that had been among the first freight agents authorised by the Chinese government, in 1994. He rose through the company to become its owner and Executive Vice President, and in 2019 Air-City was acquired by SEKO Logistics, in what was described as SEKO’s largest acquisition.

He founded SpeedX in 2022. The company’s own account is that it was created in response to the growth of e-commerce after the Covid-19 pandemic, and it delivered its first parcel in November 2022 in Queens and Brooklyn. It offers next-day and second-day delivery for online marketplaces, retailers, third-party logistics providers and cross-border shippers, and has expanded from New York into Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Chicago and other US cities. By November 2024 it had delivered more than 45 million parcels across more than 9,000 ZIP codes; its site now claims 12,000 ZIP codes and more than a million packages a day worldwide, with more than thirty major marketplaces, logistics providers and retailers as clients.

In November 2024 he acquired Accelerated Global Solutions, a customs brokerage and freight forwarding company with more than 300 employees and warehouses in nine North American locations, which had worked with SpeedX for two years beforehand. He became President and CEO of AGS. The two companies continue under their own brands and describe themselves as sister companies; together they sell a transcontinental two-day express service that pairs AGS’s air freight capacity with SpeedX’s delivery network. In February 2025 AGS took a 15% stake in KGW Group, a Malaysian logistics group, to strengthen its trans-Pacific supply chain.
