Executive Summary

Brent Pietrzak is Chief Executive Officer of CAI Software, a private equity-backed provider of ERP and production software for manufacturers, processors and distributors. He was named to the role in October 2025, when CAI combined with Print ePS, the graphic communications software division of eProductivity Software, in a merger of equals backed by STG. He came to it from Flexera, where he ran the business serving software and IoT suppliers and led it through its 2020 rebrand as Revenera.

Career Highlights

  • Chief Executive Officer of CAI Software since the October 2025 merger with Print ePS, which formed a business of more than 800 employees across North America, Europe and Asia.
  • SVP and General Manager of Flexera’s Supplier Division, announcing its February 2020 acquisition of software usage analytics company Revulytics.
  • General Manager of Revenera from its launch in May 2020 as the rebranded Flexera division for software and IoT companies.
  • As SVP and General Manager of Revenera, announced its move to subscription pricing in October 2021.

Professional Journey

Pietrzak’s public record begins at Flexera, the Itasca, Illinois software company. By early 2020 he was SVP and General Manager of its Supplier Division, the part of Flexera that sold software licensing, monetisation and installation tools to software producers rather than to the enterprises that buy software. In February 2020 he announced Flexera’s acquisition of Revulytics, a software usage analytics company, arguing that usage insight would let product teams make better decisions and help compliance teams recover revenue from unlicensed use.

In May 2020 Flexera gave that division its own identity as Revenera, with Pietrzak as General Manager. “Our mission is to help software and IoT companies grow their top line and benefit from operational efficiency and automation,” he said at the launch. By October 2021, as SVP and General Manager of Revenera, he announced a move to subscription pricing, saying the software industry was adopting subscription broadly and that it fitted the business’s customer-centric approach.

In October 2025 CAI Software, which dates from 1978, merged with Print ePS in a transaction in which STG, the lead investor in both businesses, stayed invested in the combined company. CAI named Pietrzak chief executive and Cort Townsend chief financial officer. The merged company kept the CAI name and was organised into Process Manufacturing, Discrete Manufacturing and Graphic Communications divisions, while ePS’s packaging division became an independent company. Pietrzak said at the time that the merger created “tremendous opportunities for our clients, employees and partners” and that CAI was “building a more dynamic, diversified software leader.” CAI describes his focus as operational excellence and customer-centric initiatives to drive growth.
