Professional Journey
Before MaxContact, Booth spent his career helping businesses across a range of industries improve their customer and agent experiences; the company credits him with more than 20 years in that field. He has said he set up MaxContact after growing frustrated with contact centre software providers that over-promised and under-delivered on features, support and resilience.
MaxContact was established in 2015 and is headquartered in Manchester and he has been its chief executive since then, working alongside co-founder Richard Coward, who now leads enterprise and strategic partnerships. The product centres on intelligent dialling technology combined with smart automation. The company says customers have seen contact rates rise by 200 to 300 per cent, and it aims at growing businesses that manage millions of interactions a year.
In 2020 the company’s ownership changed, and it is now backed by the private equity firm FPE Capital, which says its investment is focused on accelerating product development and go-to-market capability. Booth has said FPE stood out among the firms they met for its experience in software as a service, and that he had learned more in the four years since than in the previous ten. Over that period MaxContact has added an AI-driven analytics product, widened its routes to market and strengthened its leadership team with a chief financial officer and an operations director in 2024 and a VP of Sales in 2025.
