Professional Journey

Ramesh started young. According to his Synup bio, he became an entrepreneur at 14 with his own online marketing and web services firm. After running it profitably through his teenage years, he opted out of a formal college degree to work on entrepreneurship full-time. That background, as both an agency operator and a builder of software for agencies, shaped the company he went on to found.

Synup began as a platform for syncing and managing a business’s data across the many sites where customers find it, such as Yelp, Facebook and Google Maps, so that companies could track, manage and analyze their listings from one place. It raised a $6 million Series A led by Vertex Ventures, and by March 2018 Forbes reported more than 100,000 business customers. That year Forbes named Ramesh, then based in Bengaluru, to its 30 Under 30 Asia list for Enterprise Technology.

The company has since grown its reach. Synup says it has touched around 10% of all US small businesses, manages more than 3.5 million locations worldwide and has generated more than $1 billion in revenue for partners and clients. It runs offices in New York, Berlin and Bengaluru for North America, EMEA and Asia.

In August 2025 Ramesh announced Synup OS, which the company had planned and built for more than two years. It is designed as an operating system for the agencies that sell marketing services to small businesses, bringing lead generation, sales pipeline, client management, service fulfillment and invoicing into one platform. In launching it he pointed to the size of that market: about 50,000 agencies generating roughly $18 billion a year.

Education

Ramesh did not complete a formal college degree. According to his Synup bio, he chose to pursue entrepreneurship full-time after running his own company as a teenager.
