Executive Summary

Ashish Khot is the founder and chief executive of TechnoMile, a Tysons, Virginia software company that builds cloud and AI products for the government contracting market. Selling to the federal government is a distinctive commercial discipline — opportunities surface years ahead through public forecasts and solicitations, capture and bid decisions consume enormous internal effort, and once won, a contract carries compliance, modification and audit obligations that ordinary enterprise systems do not model. TechnoMile addresses that whole lifecycle, from identifying and pursuing opportunities through post-award contract management, and now, following a January 2026 combination with SIMS Software, industrial security compliance as well. The company reports more than 250 clients, among them half the top ten federal defence contractors and half the top ten IT government contractors.

Career Highlights

  • Founded TechnoMile and has led it as chief executive, growing it to more than 250 clients spanning small businesses through Fortune 500 contractors.
  • Combined TechnoMile with SIMS Software in January 2026 in a transaction led by Capitol Meridian Partners, extending the platform into industrial security information management.
  • Raised $20 million from K1 Investment Management in 2021 to accelerate hiring and build out the cloud platform.
  • Acquired Bid2Win Consulting in 2021, adding strategic capture and proposal advisory services alongside the software.
  • Co-founded uKnow.com, a family online-safety company later acquired by Bark Technologies, providing product and engineering leadership.
  • Co-founded Cruise.com and served as a technology executive at buySafe, Inc.

Professional Journey

Khot’s career has run through two decades of technology company building, mostly in consumer and e-commerce before the pivot to government. He co-founded Cruise.com, an online travel business, and was a technology executive at buySafe, Inc., which sold trust and guarantee services to online merchants. He then co-founded uKnow.com, a parental-awareness and family online-safety product, where he led product and engineering; uKnow was subsequently acquired by Bark Technologies, which remains one of the better-known names in the same category.

TechnoMile began from a consultancy rather than from a product idea. Khot ran a practice adapting Salesforce CRM to the requirements of federal contractors — which sounds like configuration work but is not, because the object model a government contractor needs is genuinely different. Pipeline is measured in multi-year pursuits, not quarters; an opportunity is a public solicitation with a compliance matrix attached; and the relationship that matters may be with a contracting officer rather than a buyer. Doing that work repeatedly, for many contractors, made clear that the same problem was being solved from scratch each time, and TechnoMile was built to productise it.

The company’s expansion has been both organic and acquisitive. The 2021 acquisition of Bid2Win Consulting added human advisory capability to the software — recognition that capture management is a practice as much as a tool. The same year, K1 Investment Management put $20 million in to fund engineering and go-to-market hiring. Product lines grew to cover growth and capture, contract lifecycle management, and the underlying platform, increasingly with AI applied to solicitation analysis and compliance work that had been manual.

The January 2026 combination with SIMS Software was the largest step. SIMS, a 40-year-old vendor of industrial security information management systems, sells into the same customer base but solves a different regulatory problem: tracking clearances, classified holdings and audit compliance for organisations handling controlled information. Capitol Meridian Partners, which invests at the intersection of government and commercial markets, led the transaction. Khot described it as a pivotal moment for both companies and framed the rationale around accelerating AI innovation and broadening reach across GovCon, aerospace and defence, defence technology, government agencies and research institutions.
