Executive Summary
Anand Janefalkar is the founder and CEO of Petal, a San Francisco company making a bra-insert wearable that measures health signals from the chest and was designed around women’s physiology. He is better known as the founder of UJET, the AI-powered cloud contact center platform, which he led as CEO for close to a decade until April 2025, when Vasili Triant took over and Janefalkar became Chairman of the Board and Chief Evangelist. UJET’s leadership page still lists him in that role. Both companies started from the same idea: that a mature category was built around outdated assumptions. For UJET that was customer service built for the phone call; for Petal it is health tracking designed around the wrist and around men’s bodies.

Professional Journey
Janefalkar trained as an engineer, taking a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics at Mumbai University and a Master of Science in Telecommunications at Southern Methodist University. In a 2026 interview he described starting in wireless communications research on 3G and 4G protocols at Nokia Research Center, then spending seven years at Motorola Mobility, where he worked on the 3G Razr, on the platform that became Android, on the first Android tablet, and on the Moto Active, an early smartwatch. He later worked on the Jambox speaker and at Lab126 before starting his own company. UJET’s biography also says he advised several Bay Area technology businesses.
His first company was UJET. As he put it, people communicate visually and in context through their smartphones “except when they’re talking to a business.” UJET set out to modernise the contact center, which he saw as held back by design flaws and conventional thinking, and became a cloud contact center platform built around AI, multiple channels and mobile. He said he built it for almost ten years. In April 2025 UJET named Vasili Triant, a former Cisco contact-center executive, as CEO, and Janefalkar moved to Chairman of the Board and Chief Evangelist. At the time he said Triant’s go-to-market strategy would let UJET “capitalize on the demand for AI-powered, personalized customer experiences.”
He then founded Petal. The company says it was prompted by his losing someone close to breast cancer, and by a view that women’s health is underserved and female physiology poorly understood by existing wearables. Petal’s device is a discreet insert worn in a bra that uses ECG and bioimpedance sensing to track signals such as visceral fat, mobility and balance, with hydration tracking under development and heart and breast health as longer-term goals. Its algorithms are developed on women’s data, drawing on published research and the company’s own clinical studies. In September 2026 Petal, based in San Francisco, announced that it had begun shipping, with Janefalkar as CEO and founder.
