Professional Journey

Park studied at Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and earned an MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. She began as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, rising to engagement manager, with a focus on retail, fashion, marketing and consumer digital work. She then moved into the industry at Levi Strauss & Co., where she was Director, Global Strategy for the Dockers brand and later Senior Director, Women’s Merchandising for Dockers.

In 2006 she joined DFS, the Hong Kong-based luxury travel retailer that is a division of LVMH, as Global Vice President, Fashion. In 2012 she became Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and eCommerce, and in that role she launched the company’s first global eCommerce site, serving customers across China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the United States.

In September 2015 she became Chief Executive Officer of Paper Source, the stationery and gift retailer, and led it from a store-based business toward an omnichannel lifestyle brand with a larger digital presence. During that period she also joined her first public-company board: Express, Inc., the specialty apparel retailer, appointed her a director in June 2018, and Dollar Tree, Inc. added her as an independent director in December 2020.

In January 2022 she became Chief Executive Officer of Forever 21, the fast-fashion retailer, and stepped down from the Express board on taking the job. At Forever 21 she pursued a social-media-first approach to younger shoppers, launched omnichannel and social-commerce capabilities and a partnership with Roblox, and broadened the range beyond women’s apparel. She remained on the Dollar Tree board until 2024.

Five Below named her Chief Executive Officer in December 2024, effective December 16, and she joined its board at the same time. Kenneth Bull, who had been interim chief executive since July 2024, stayed on as Chief Operating Officer. She is based in Philadelphia, where the company has its headquarters.
