Professional Journey

Aguilar earned a BS in chemical engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey and an MBA in marketing from Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick, according to P&G. He joined the company on 1 October 1989 as R&D manager for laundry in Central America.

He was R&D manager for Latin America laundry from 1996 and for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa laundry from 2001, then associate director of R&D for Middle East and Africa laundry and, from 2005, for Latin America fabric care. In 2008 he became director of R&D for Global Baby Basics and Latin America R&D leader, and in 2012 director of R&D for global high-density laundry.

In 2014 he became vice president of R&D for Global Fabric Care, adding the corporate function in 2019. In 2020 he was named executive vice president for corporate R&D and then chief research, development and innovation officer, the year the 10-K records him as first elected an officer. P&G says that in corporate R&D he worked to accelerate the value of its transformative platform technologies.

In his role he leads the R&D organization, the global innovation program and strategy, the annual R&D investment and the end-to-end packaging transformation, and acts as liaison to the board’s Innovation and Technology Committee. Procter & Gamble, based in Cincinnati, reported net sales of $87.0 billion for the fiscal year ended 30 June 2026, according to its 10-K.
