  • Vice President of Administration and Chief Financial Officer of AtriCure, the Nasdaq-listed atrial fibrillation medical device company, from 2005 to 2006.
  • Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer of DoubleClick, the internet advertising technology company later acquired by Google, from 1998.

Professional Journey

Etergino earned a B.S. in business administration and accounting at Washington and Lee University and started his career at Coopers & Lybrand, one of the firms later merged into PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked from 1988 to 1996. After a period as corporate finance manager at Time Warner, he joined DoubleClick in 1998, early in the internet advertising boom. He was its Corporate Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer and later ran finance for its TechSolutions division, leaving in 2003. Google later acquired DoubleClick.

He then became chief financial officer of several companies in a row. He was Senior Vice President and CFO of LSSi Corp., a data services provider, from 2003 to 2005. He then became Vice President of Administration and CFO of AtriCure, a medical device company focused on treating atrial fibrillation, from 2005 to 2006. In 2006 he moved to eMusic.com, the digital music subscription service, as CFO and took on the chief operating officer role as well in 2008.

TheStreet, Inc., the Nasdaq-listed financial media company, appointed him Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in August 2010, and he started that September. In March 2013 he left for Refinery29, the venture-backed digital media company focused on women, and was its CFO for four years. From April 2017 he was CFO of Vesta Healthcare, a clinical provider group and digital health platform.

1stDibs hired him as CFO in March 2022 to replace Tu Nguyen. When he was appointed, he said he was drawn to the company’s asset-light model and its unusual supply of goods. The years that followed were about cost. The company’s own account is that it rebuilt its cost structure between 2022 and 2025. In its second-quarter 2026 results it reported gross merchandise value of $96.0 million, net revenue of $23.3 million and an adjusted EBITDA margin of about 6%, which Etergino described as the new cost base turning revenue upside into margin. He is one of three executive officers named in the company’s 2026 proxy, together with Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer David Rosenblatt and General Counsel and Chief People Officer Melanie Goins.
