Raman earned a B.Tech in electrical and electronics engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1996 and a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management in 1998, and in 2015 completed Harvard Business School’s Building and Sustaining a Successful Enterprise program, according to P&G. He joined the company on 1 June 1998 as associate manager for trends in market research in India.
He moved to global business intelligence and consumer and market knowledge roles and then into beauty marketing in North America, as assistant brand manager for Infusium and ethnic hair care and brand manager for Head & Shoulders. In 2008 he joined North America Fabric Care as associate director for innovation, becoming brand director in 2011 and vice president in 2015.
In 2019 he became president of Fabric Care North America and P&G Professional, adding global Home Care in 2020, and in 2021 chief executive of Fabric and Home Care, the year the 10-K records him as first elected an officer. In 2025 the role also covered P&G Ventures. P&G credits him with innovations including Tide Pods, Downy Unstopables and Tide Evo and with the expansion into laundry services.
Outside P&G he has been a non-executive director of Compass Group since 2022 and business vice chair of the Council on Competitiveness since 2026, and he chaired the American Cleaning Institute from 2017 to 2021. He served on the board of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati from 2016 to 2023, according to his company biography.
