Professional Journey

Ganeson grew up in Australia and built the first part of his career there, at Optus Communications, the telecommunications carrier that competes with Telstra in the Australian market. He held a range of leadership roles at the company before becoming Managing Director for Customer and Digital, a position carrying responsibility for a customer business worth $6.5 billion. That role sat at the point where telecommunications operators face their hardest commercial problem: retaining consumer and business customers in a market where the underlying product is largely undifferentiated and switching is easy, which makes the quality of the customer experience the principal competitive lever rather than a service function.

He moved to the United States in 2019 and became Chief Operating Officer at [24]7.ai, the Sequoia-backed company building AI-driven customer engagement software, where he oversaw core business functions across its product business — again working on the intersection of customer experience and operational execution, this time from the vendor side rather than as the operator buying such systems.

At CommerceIQ he applies that background to a different problem. The platform serves brands selling through retail e-commerce channels, principally Amazon, where the mechanics of winning are unusually algorithmic: advertising bids, search placement, inventory availability, pricing, and content all interact, and a stockout or a lost buy box costs sales immediately and invisibly. CommerceIQ automates the management of those levers together rather than treating them as separate disciplines. As President, Ganeson owns the revenue and customer side of that business, drawing on a career spent at the boundary between operations and customers rather than in product or engineering. He is based in Palo Alto and graduated from the Wharton School.
