Executive Summary

Regina Wallace-Jones is President and CEO of ActBlue, the nonprofit that builds the online fundraising platform used by Democratic candidates, progressive organizations and millions of small-dollar donors. She took over in January 2023, succeeding Erin Hill after 14 years, as only the fourth leader in ActBlue’s history and the first Black woman in the role. She brought a dual-track background: more than two decades in technology, running product, security and operations teams at Yahoo, Facebook, eBay and Mindbody, alongside local politics as an organizer, city councillor and mayor of East Palo Alto, California. Under her, ActBlue has widened from payment processing into a suite of campaign tools.

Career Highlights

  • President and CEO of ActBlue since January 2023.
  • Launched Raise by ActBlue, a self-service fundraising product for down-ballot campaigns, in August 2025, and led the acquisitions of organizing platform Impactive (September 2025) and Hey Victor (January 2026).
  • Chief Operating Officer of LendStreet, and before that successive SVP roles at Mindbody, latterly SVP of Products & Engineering.
  • Chief of Staff and Head of Product Operations at eBay; Chief of Staff and Head of Security Operations at Facebook; Senior Director of Technology & Operations at Yahoo.
  • Elected to the East Palo Alto City Council in 2018, serving as Vice Mayor and, from 2020, Mayor through the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford and a Master of Public Policy from UCLA.

Professional Journey

Wallace-Jones trained as an electrical engineer at Stanford and began her career as a systems engineer at Motorola, later rising through several positions at Covad Communications to Director of Operations. She also earned a Master of Public Policy at UCLA Luskin, completed in 1999 with a focus on telecommunications and technology policy.

Her technology career then ran through some of the largest consumer internet companies. She was Senior Director of Technology & Operations at Yahoo, Chief of Staff and Head of Security Operations at Facebook, and Chief of Staff and Head of Product Operations at eBay. At Mindbody, the wellness-business software company, she held three senior vice president roles in turn, covering product services, insight and innovation, and finally products and engineering, where her own biography says she led teams across four continents. She then became Chief Operating Officer of LendStreet, a financial technology company focused on helping people restructure debt.

Alongside that career ran a second one in politics. While at Yahoo she served as a Regional Field Organizer for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, and went on to organize and fundraise for other campaigns. In November 2018 she won a seat on the East Palo Alto City Council, placing first of seven candidates; her colleagues made her Vice Mayor and, in 2020, Mayor, and she led the city through the pandemic.

ActBlue named her CEO and President in January 2023. Its founder and board chair, Matt DeBergalis, pointed to her 20 years building platforms that scale while staying secure and reliable, which is the core requirement of a system that processes billions of dollars in contributions. Her tenure has moved ActBlue beyond donation pages. In August 2025 she unveiled Raise by ActBlue at Netroots Nation, a self-service product meant to get state and local campaigns fundraising within days. The following month ActBlue acquired Impactive, adding texting, phone banking, relational organizing and voter registration tools, and in January 2026 it added Hey Victor. ActBlue reports that small-dollar donors raised nearly $1.8 billion through the platform in 2025, and $586 million in the second quarter of 2026. According to her own biography, she also chairs the board of Sama, a B Corp certified AI company.
