Professional Journey

Shivam trained as an engineer at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, where he earned a B.Tech and a Master’s, and then took an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He began in strategy consulting and financial services, with roles at Mitchell Madison Group, Andersen and Morgan Stanley.

He then moved into analytics at Inductis, where he served on the board and headed analytics and consulting. Right Skale’s biography says Inductis became one of the first well-regarded data analytics firms, delivering analytics work for Fortune 500 clients. EXL Service later acquired it, and it now forms part of EXL’s analytics business.

In 2008 he joined Avendus Capital, the Indian investment bank, in New York. He built its U.S. business and, by his company’s account, led Avendus US as CEO, running its Enterprise Technology and Services practice and managing cross-border deals across the U.S., Europe and Asia. His regulatory filing lists him as an Executive Director there from January 2008 to December 2024. He was registered as a broker from 2010 and as an investment adviser representative from 2012. For more than a decade he advised technology services businesses on scaling and sales. He also joined the board of Jade Global, an enterprise technology services company, in September 2023, and the board of TiE NYC in March 2024.

In January 2025 he moved to the operating side of the industry he had advised, joining Right Skale as Co-Founder and CEO. Founder Amit Shah remains Founder, President and Chief Revenue Officer. The company describes itself as AI-first, with offices in Pleasanton and India. Shivam re-registered with Avendus Capital as a Principal in 2025 while continuing as Right Skale’s CEO and a board member. He also took a board advisor role at MindLance, a technology services company, in June 2025.
