Professional Journey

Hediger studied business administration at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, graduating with an MS. His career in corporate finance began in reporting: from 2007 to 2009 he was Director Financial Reporting at the Kofax Group.

In 2010 he became CFO of Sequel, and in 2016 his remit widened to COO/CFO, with a seat on the executive management team, a role he held until 2017. Datacolor describes him as coming from a background in the fashion industry, and he draws the connection to his current business himself: “Like a suit, you want to make sure when you put the pieces together it’s a perfect color match – not ‘close enough’ – but exactly the same color.”

He joined Datacolor in 2018. The company sells color measurement instruments, software and services to manufacturers and brands in textiles, paint and coatings, plastics, printing and photography. Datacolor describes his role as advising its leadership through detailed analysis of the company’s financial strength and evaluating potential acquisitions and business opportunities.

The largest change in his time there has been one of ownership. Datacolor AG was listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, with Werner Dubach as majority shareholder. In November 2023 Dubach initiated cancellation proceedings for the remaining publicly held shares; SIX Exchange Regulation approved the delisting in January 2024, and the shares were cancelled and delisted as of 19 April 2024. Datacolor has since operated as a privately owned company, and Hediger continues to serve as its Chief Financial Officer.
