Dawidek’s technical reputation was built in open source. He is a committer to the FreeBSD operating system, listed in the project’s contributors roll as Paweł Jakub Dawidek, and his work there has focused on security and storage — the same concerns that run through his commercial career.

The company he co-founded has a longer legal history than its brand. It was registered in Warsaw in December 2004 as Wheel sp. z o.o., renamed Wheel Systems in 2009 and Fudo Security in 2019, and Dawidek has sat on its management board since the first register entry. In February 2026 the leadership changed. A court register entry dated 11 February removed Brożek from the management board and changed Dawidek’s function from vice-president to President of the Management Board, leaving a two-person board. The company has not, in any source found, published an announcement of the change or a new title for him.
