Professional Journey
Joffe studied computer engineering at the University of California San Diego. His early career was in search and data infrastructure. He worked at Powerset, the natural-language search start-up, and joined Microsoft when it acquired the company; he also held an engineering role at Google. He then became an early engineer on Facebook’s data infrastructure team during the period when the tools for storing and processing web-scale data were being built.
He carried that background into ActionIQ, which he co-founded with Tasso Argyros in New York. ActionIQ built an enterprise customer data platform — software that lets large companies unify their customer data and put it to work in marketing and customer experience. As CTO, Joffe architected the platform end-to-end. The company’s SEC Form D filings of 2019 and 2021 list him, with Argyros, as an executive officer and director, with a board that also included Douglas Leone and Martin Casado. ActionIQ raised $145 million in total and grew to hundreds of employees serving Fortune 500 clients.
In December 2024 Uniphore, the enterprise AI company, announced that it was acquiring ActionIQ together with the data operations company Infoworks, to combine ActionIQ’s composable customer data platform with its own AI products. ActionIQ now sits within Uniphore’s platform, and its former web address redirects to Uniphore.
Joffe has since joined Team8 as an Operating Partner. Team8 builds companies from the idea stage as well as investing in them, and his brief there is software and AI infrastructure — the same layer of the stack he worked on at Facebook and built at ActionIQ.
