Professional Journey
Hansen earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing at the University of St. Thomas, a Master of Science in accounting at Oklahoma State University and an MBA in finance at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He joined ExxonMobil in Houston in 2000 in upstream financial analyst and supervisory roles, and from 2006 to 2008 was financial reporting manager on the Sakhalin project in Russia.
After a period as audit division manager for U.S. Chemical, he moved to headquarters in 2009 as a senior financial advisor, worked on the XTO transition team and as an upstream advisor in investor relations, and then in the Treasurer’s office. From 2014 to 2017 he was lead country manager and business services manager in Thailand, and from 2018 to 2020 Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Secretary.
He went on to run fuels for Europe, Africa and the Middle East from Brussels, then energy products for ExxonMobil Product Solutions, and from May 2025 Global Business Solutions. On 1 February 2026 he became Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
