Melissa Kirmayer Eamer is President and Chief Operating Officer of Wyze, the Seattle company known for low-cost home security cameras and connected devices, which says its products are used in more than 10 million households. She is an operator from consumer retail. She spent 19 years at Amazon, finishing as the vice president responsible for sales and marketing of Amazon’s devices, including Kindle and Echo, then became chief operating officer at the beauty brand Glossier and later chief executive of Modern Age. Wyze’s co-founders are also former Amazon employees, and the job brought her back to consumer hardware.

  • Spent 19 years at Amazon. Her last role there was Vice President for sales and marketing of Amazon devices, covering Kindle and Echo.
  • Held earlier Amazon roles as VP for consumer engagement, VP for sports, outdoors and toys, director of the Kindle Content Store and director for home and garden.
  • Became Chief Operating Officer of Glossier in 2019. The direct-to-consumer beauty brand had been valued at $1.2 billion earlier that year.
  • Served as CEO of Modern Age.

Professional Journey

Eamer began her career in publishing and marketing, as a sales coordinator at Chapters Publishing and a marketing manager at Microcosm, Ltd. She then earned an MBA at the University of Michigan and joined Amazon.

She spent 19 years at Amazon and moved across very different parts of the retail business. She ran the home and garden category, then the Kindle Content Store. She was a technical advisor in the consumer business. She was vice president for sports, outdoors and toys, and later for consumer engagement. Her last role was vice president for sales and marketing of Amazon devices. Wyze describes that job as overseeing product development and sales for Kindle and Echo.

In September 2019 she left for Glossier, the digital-first beauty brand, as its chief operating officer. The company had raised $100 million at a $1.2 billion valuation that year. The split, as reported at the time, gave her the growth-driving parts of the business, while founder and CEO Emily Weiss kept her focus on brand, community, content and product. She later served as chief executive of Modern Age.

In June 2025 Wyze named her President and Chief Operating Officer. The company had built its business on affordable cameras and smart home devices and was adding AI features such as filters for camera notifications. Her remit, as the company described it, was operational: faster speed to market, better customer support, decisions driven by business intelligence, and responsibility for partnerships and business development. “I’m eager to return to the smart devices space,” she said at the time, “where I’ll focus on improving operational excellence to deliver new, innovative products to market faster.”
