Executive Summary

Lee Peters is Chief Operating Officer of Everfi, the Washington, D.C. company that partners with banks, businesses and schools to deliver financial education, career readiness and other life-skills courses. Everfi appointed him in January 2026 to run its day-to-day operations and turn strategy into execution. He came to the role with a career in education companies, including senior executive roles at Pearson, Scholastic, Learning Ally and Kibeam Learning. He joined an Everfi that had recently become independent again: Blackbaud sold the business to a private investment firm at the end of 2024.

Career Highlights

  • Appointed Chief Operating Officer of Everfi in January 2026, announced alongside Adam Seay’s appointment as Vice President of Finance.
  • Held senior executive roles at Pearson, Scholastic, Learning Ally and Kibeam Learning, leading strategy and operational transformation.
  • Everfi says he has led global strategy, sales, marketing, product, technology and operations in organisations ranging from $10 million to over $1 billion in value, including financial turnarounds.
  • Background in end-to-end operational change, including international production, retail and e-commerce distribution, cost reduction and margin improvement.

Professional Journey

Peters built his career in education, publishing and learning technology. Everfi’s biography places him in senior executive roles at Pearson and Scholastic, two of the largest education publishers, and then at Learning Ally, the literacy nonprofit, and Kibeam Learning, a children’s learning technology company. The company describes that work as spanning for-profit and nonprofit organisations in education technology, SaaS, AI-enabled learning, certification and consumer products. Across those roles he led strategy, sales, marketing, product, technology and operations through technology-driven growth and financial turnarounds. His operating experience also covers international production, retail and e-commerce distribution, cost reduction and margin improvement, as well as raising investment and negotiating strategic partnerships.

He joined Everfi at a turning point for the company. Everfi had been owned by Blackbaud, the Nasdaq-listed software company. On 31 December 2024, Blackbaud sold the EVERFI business for a nominal amount to a private investment firm unaffiliated with Blackbaud, keeping its YourCause corporate giving products. Everfi continues under CEO Ray Martinez and describes itself as a provider of personal finance and essential life-skills education delivered through businesses and communities.

On 21 January 2026 Everfi announced Peters as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for day-to-day operations and for turning the company’s strategic vision into focused execution. It announced Adam Seay as Vice President of Finance at the same time. Martinez said at the time that Peters had a record of helping organisations execute with clarity and momentum.
