She also held roles at (RED) and at Viacom, where India-West reports she worked in strategy and business development.
She joined Etsy in 2011 and moved through a series of roles. She was the first head of its Marketplace Integrity and Trust & Safety teams, and she led the International team and the Business & Corporate Development function. She later ran the global Seller Services business as General Manager and then became Senior Vice President of Product. In October 2019 she was named Chief Product Officer.
In September 2022 she became chief executive of Depop, the fashion resale marketplace then owned by Etsy, and ran it until March 2025. Etsy’s 2026 proxy says she led a comprehensive assessment of the marketplace in that role and led efforts to improve its gross merchandise sales trends.
On October 29, 2025, Etsy announced that Silverman would step down as CEO at the end of the year after more than eight years and that Patel Goyal would succeed him and join the board from January 1, 2026. Board chair Fred Wilson described the appointment as the outcome of succession planning; Wilson became Lead Independent Director. In February 2026 Etsy agreed to sell Depop to eBay, and the sale completed on July 30, 2026, for approximately $1.4 billion in cash.
