Executive Summary
Josué Moëns is a co-founder of LumApps and its Chief Strategic Partnerships Officer. LumApps started in Lyon in 2012 as a custom intranet built for one client, Veolia. Its funding and ownership went through three stages: a Goldman Sachs-backed round in 2020, a majority investment from Bridgepoint in 2024 at a $650 million valuation, and a 2025 merger with the Swiss frontline-worker app Beekeeper that valued the combined business at more than $1 billion.

Professional Journey
In a November 2025 interview with the French American Chamber of Commerce Texas, Moëns said LumApps began with a practical problem. Veolia was moving to the cloud and had no central way to communicate with its employees. The intranet the founders built for that one client became the base of the product, which he calls “customer-driven from day one.” The company was founded in Lyon in 2012 and is still headquartered in the Lyon area, at Tassin-la-Demi-Lune.
The step he singles out as decisive was entering the US in 2017, while LumApps was still a young French scale-up. The company chose Austin as its North American base for its tech talent, cost and central location, and he says the US was its top growth market by 2019. More funding followed, including a 2020 round involving Goldman Sachs. The customer list came to include Airbus, Electronic Arts, Japan Airlines, Capital One and Galeries Lafayette.
After that, LumApps grew by acquisition and partnership. It bought Vizir, a no-code digital assistant technology, in 2022 and Teach on Mars, a mobile-first microlearning platform, in 2023. In 2025 it signed a strategic partnership with Mercer to bring HR and internal communications together. In 2024 Bridgepoint Europe VII took a majority stake in a deal valuing LumApps at $650 million. On 2 July 2025, LumApps announced a definitive agreement to merge with Beekeeper, a Swiss mobile-first platform for frontline workers. The deal valued the combined company at more than $1 billion, with over 7 million users, more than 2,000 clients and about $150 million in recurring revenue. By September 2025 the company was announcing leadership appointments for the merged business.
Moëns now holds the Chief Strategic Partnerships role in a leadership team that has since added a new chief executive, Sébastien Cano, with co-founder Sébastien Ricard as Executive Chairman.
