Professional Journey
Kolb began her career in 1989 at Parexel International, the global clinical research organisation, where she worked for fourteen years in a series of roles that included Director of Clinical IT.
In 2003 she joined Averion, a Southborough, Massachusetts CRO, as Director and later Senior Director of Clinical Data Services. In August 2006 she was appointed Chief Technical Officer, one of the executive officers named in Averion’s SEC filings, and held that role until November 2007.
She later joined Statistics & Data Corporation, a biometrics-focused CRO. SDC’s stated aim is to combine statistical and data management expertise with proprietary technology, including its SDC Sidekick AI tools, to shorten study start-up and improve delivery. In May 2025 the company promoted her to President and Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for strategy, operations and delivery. CEO Richard Abelson described the promotion as “a testament to the strength and growing maturity of the broader SDC management team”, and Kolb said she was honoured to lead an organisation “truly redefining clinical data services through both people and technology”. The priorities set out with the appointment were advancing SDC’s proprietary technology, improving operational efficiency and study start-up timelines, and strengthening client service.
