Professional Journey
Mélois trained as an engineer at École Centrale de Lyon and built his early career in information management and cloud solutions. He worked as a consultant at gPartner, an early integrator of Google’s enterprise products that is now part of Devoteam. In 2012 he was one of the first engineers to earn Google Cloud Platform certification.
That same year he co-founded LumApps in Lyon with Sébastien Ricard and their colleagues. In a 2020 interview he said the co-founders all came from enterprise technology and that they “launched LumApps in 2012 because we saw a need for companies to centralize communications and workflows.” The product grew from a Google-centric intranet into a broader employee experience platform, and LumApps added capabilities through acquisitions: Vizir’s no-code digital assistant technology and Teach on Mars’s mobile microlearning.
The company changed hands during his tenure. By 2020 LumApps had raised more than $100 million from investors including Goldman Sachs, Idinvest Partners and Iris Capital. In 2024 Bridgepoint bought a majority stake in a deal TechCrunch valued at $650 million, and the founders kept stakes and stayed with the business. LumApps then combined with Beekeeper, the Swiss platform for frontline workers, to extend its reach from desk-based staff to the front line, and it now reports more than 600 staff in nine offices from Austin to Tokyo. In September 2026 the company announced that Sébastien Cano would take over as CEO on 1 December 2026, with Ricard becoming Executive Chairman. The company’s site lists Mélois as MD & Chief Technology Officer.
He lives in Lyon, and his contributor profile lists running and basketball among his interests.
