Professional Journey
Ferreira joined the U.S. Marine Corps straight out of high school. He served as a sergeant and deployed across the Middle East, including to Afghanistan, before he was 21. His company biography credits that service with teaching him to make decisions under sustained pressure.
He then spent nearly a decade in government contracting. He started as a full stack software engineer building mission-critical systems for government agencies. He then became a senior solutions architect, researching and responding to high-value solicitations. Finally, as a director of business strategy at what he describes as a major prime contractor, he led cross-functional teams that won and delivered contracts and defended incumbent positions. That work showed him the pain points that Procurement Sciences was later built to address. Teams struggled to keep up with a constant flow of requests for proposals, compliance matrices, rewrites and last-minute deadlines, and most of the tools they had were manual.
He founded Procurement Sciences in 2022, when generative AI became capable enough to take on that work. The company describes its product as an AI-native operating system for government contractors. It covers opportunity discovery, capture planning, proposal writing, compliance management and delivery. Awarded AI was built to work alongside the user rather than in place of them. By the time of its Series B the company said the platform was used by more than 300 organizations, including four of the ten largest defense and aerospace contractors. It also said customers had won $3 billion in contracts with its help.
The $30 million Series B was announced in November 2025. Catalyst Investors led the round, with existing backers Battery Ventures, Tower Research Ventures, K-Street Capital and Blu Ventures participating, and Bosch Ventures and Citi joining as strategic investors. The company reported more than tenfold revenue growth since its Series A 15 months earlier. It had also grown its team from 16 to more than 70 and hired Greg Larson, who had helped scale Jasper AI and Divvy, as CTO. Its leadership page now lists a team of more than 100.
Education
The company’s biography says he holds an MS in Innovation and Entrepreneurship with an engineering concentration, a BS in Management and an AS in Computer Science. None of the sources reviewed names the institutions.
