A state transportation department is not managing one project; it is managing a rolling portfolio of hundreds, each at a different stage, funded from different sources with different compliance requirements, over planning horizons measured in decades. Deciding which projects to fund, tracking them against budget across years, and satisfying public accountability requirements are different problems from building well, and they were poorly served by contractor-oriented software.

Aurigo built for that owner-side need, developing capital planning and program management tools aimed at government agencies, departments of transportation, and large facility owners.
