Professional Journey
Rogers began his career at Procter & Gamble in account management, where, according to Instacart, he led the company’s relationships with Canada’s largest national grocery retailers. In 2008 he moved to Apple, spending roughly eleven years in sales and business roles of increasing responsibility. In Canada he led Apple’s Carrier Channel business and its Consumer Retail business, and from 2018 to 2019 he was Managing Director of Apple Canada, where Instacart says he built a Canada-specific strategy that drove world-leading iPhone adoption.
He joined Instacart in July 2019 as Vice President, Global Retail. In September 2022 he became Chief Business Officer and took on the whole commercial side of the company: retailer relationships and expansions, advertising sales and research, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and the Instacart Business and Instacart Health units.
On 28 May 2025 Instacart announced that he would succeed Fidji Simo as Chief Executive Officer, effective 15 August 2025, and join the board on taking up the role, with Simo staying on as Chair during the handover. The company’s proxy statement later explained that the board had already identified potential internal successors, which let it move quickly, and that it chose Rogers for his understanding of the business, his operational record and his strategic vision. In November 2025, with the transition complete, Simo stepped down from the board and on 24 November the directors appointed Rogers as Chair, combining the two roles. He signed the company’s 2026 proxy statement as Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson, and in August 2026 presented Instacart’s second-quarter results as CEO.
At the time of his appointment as CEO he also sat on the board of SPINS, a data and analytics provider for the natural and wellness products industry, and on the board of the Ad Council.
