Professional Journey

Maw qualified in the United Kingdom, completing a Foundation in Accountancy at Sheffield Polytechnic before becoming a chartered accountant; he is now a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He spent thirteen years in audit and accounting, seven of them at Price Waterhouse in New York, where he became a senior audit manager in the firm’s Financial Services Industry Practice.

In February 1995 he moved to General Electric and stayed for a decade. His roles there were in the group’s finance businesses: Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at GE Equipment Services, Controller and Head of the Transaction Advisory Group at GE Capital Aviation Services, and Controller at GE Global Consumer Finance. He also spent two years in the Technology Group at GE Equity, originating and managing equity investments.

In July 2005 he became Chief Financial Officer of Liquidnet, the New York trading network that matches large block orders between institutional investors. He was there for more than a decade. In 2008 Liquidnet Holdings filed to go public, and Maw signed the registration statement as principal financial and accounting officer. Liquidnet’s broker-dealer annual report filed in February 2017 still carried his signature as CFO.

After Liquidnet he was CFO of Covius Holdings for four years and then CFO of Deep Labs and interim CFO of Recharge Payments, both B2B software companies. FourKites names these as his most recent roles before joining it but does not date them.

FourKites announced his appointment on 31 October 2023. Founder and CEO Mathew Elenjickal described him as “the mature financial veteran FourKites needs during this next stage of global growth and innovation”, and the company placed the hire alongside a new President, a new CTO and a new APAC headquarters in Chennai. FourKites has since moved its main web presence to fourkites.ai, and his role covers finance strategy, planning, risk management, operations, reporting, capital-raising and M&A.

Outside FourKites he chairs the Audit Committee of PYXERA Global, an international NGO, and has served on The Wall Street Journal CFO Network. FourKites says he has invested in more than 15 seed-stage companies.

Education

Sheffield Polytechnic

Foundation in Accountancy. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a professional credential rather than a degree. No university degree was found.
