Professional Journey

Kang trained at Deloitte LLP before moving into industry at Balfour Beatty plc in September 2010. At the infrastructure group he held a number of senior roles, including Finance Director of its rail division and Head of Investor Relations, combining operating finance with capital markets work. He then became Group Financial Controller of Kier Group plc.

He was next appointed Group CFO of Cambian Group plc. UK company records show him appointed a director of Cambian subsidiaries from July 2017, and the directorships Idox disclosed on his appointment include Cambian Childcare Limited and Cambian Education Services Limited. He then became Group CFO of Logistics Development Group plc.

Idox then announced his appointment as Chief Financial Officer and an executive director. He joined on 21 February 2022 and took his seat on the board after the annual general meeting on 16 March 2022, succeeding Rob Grubb, who moved into a newly created M&A Director role to pursue the bolt-on acquisition strategy the company then described as its “fly” phase. Idox’s own biography of him highlights experience leading large finance teams, investor relations, M&A, corporate governance, risk management and treasury, with sector knowledge spanning technology, infrastructure, construction, healthcare and logistics.

His tenure has included the company’s change of ownership. Frankel UK Bidco, indirectly owned by funds managed by Long Path Partners, announced a recommended all-cash acquisition of Idox in October 2025. The deal was restructured from a scheme of arrangement into a takeover offer at 71.5p per share, which was declared unconditional on 21 April 2026; the next day Kang and the other senior managers exercised their options and agreed to sell their shares under the offer. Idox’s shares were cancelled from trading on AIM on 29 May 2026, and in July 2026 the parent company re-registered as Idox Limited. Kang was appointed a director of Frankel UK Bidco in May 2026 and remains one of the two directors of Idox Limited, alongside Jonathan Legdon, whom the company’s leadership page now names as chief executive.
