Executive Summary
Andy Levi is a product and technology leader whose career has run along a single seam for three decades: making enterprise software that salespeople and operators will actually use. He spent the late 1990s and 2000s in consulting and internal technology leadership — Cambridge Technology Partners, Innoveer Solutions, Forrester Research, IntraLinks — largely around CRM implementation, which is where he acquired the conviction that animates the rest of his career. In 2014 he co-founded Spiro with Adam Honig and Justin Kao and served as its chief technology officer and chief product officer. Spiro’s premise was a direct inversion of the category: manufacturers and distributors were spending heavily on CRM and getting nothing back except data-entry burden, so Spiro built a system that constructs customer records automatically from email traffic and tells a salesperson who to follow up with, rather than asking them to maintain it. Since 2022 Levi has been a principal product leader at Amazon Web Services, working on generative AI and revenue acceleration, and he mentors early-stage founders through Techstars Boston.
Career Highlights

- Built Spiro around automatic profile creation from email rather than manual data entry, with a recommendation engine for follow-up timing and an email-driven interface.
- Raised a $3m seed round announced in October 2017, led by Geekdom Fund with MassVentures, Hyperplane Venture Capital and New Harbour Partners participating.
- Reached more than 500 customers, concentrated in manufacturing and other traditional industries, by the time of that round.
- Moved to Spiro’s board of advisors in 2022 and served until 2024.
- Joined Amazon Web Services in 2022 as a principal product leader working on generative AI and revenue acceleration.
- Has mentored early-stage technology founders through Techstars Boston since 2021.
- Earlier held technology leadership roles at IntraLinks, Forrester Research, Innoveer Solutions, Cambridge Technology Partners and TR COM.
Professional Journey
Levi began in engineering in the mid-1990s and moved quickly into consulting, first as a senior technical consultant at Cambridge Technology Partners and then, from 1999, at Innoveer Solutions, where he spent nearly a decade — as a principal technical consultant and later running the New England practice. Innoveer was a CRM implementation specialist, which meant Levi spent years inside other companies’ sales organisations watching what happened after the software was installed. He then moved in-house, first as director of business technology at Forrester Research from 2008 to 2013, then as director of business applications at IntraLinks.
That accumulated experience produced a specific diagnosis, one his later co-founders shared: CRM had been built for the manager who wants reporting, not for the salesperson who has to feed it, and in industries such as manufacturing and distribution — where the sales motion is relationship-led and the rep is often on the road — the mismatch was total. Companies bought the systems, the reps did not update them, and the data was worthless.
In 2014 Levi co-founded Spiro with Adam Honig as chief executive and Justin Kao, taking the roles of chief technology officer and chief product officer. The product they built inverted the usual assumption. Rather than asking a salesperson to enter data, Spiro read their email, created and refreshed customer profiles automatically, and pushed recommendations about who to contact and when. Most interaction could happen through email itself, including setting reminders and pulling activity reports, which meant the rep never had to open a CRM at all. The company described itself, and still does, as an anti-CRM CRM, and focused on manufacturers and distributors, later adding ERP integration to connect the sales picture to what was actually being made and shipped.
Spiro announced a $3m seed round in October 2017, led by Geekdom Fund with participation from MassVentures, Hyperplane Venture Capital and New Harbour Partners, by which time it had over 500 customers. Levi led product and engineering through the following years as the company built out its AI capabilities and its manufacturing focus.
In 2022 he stepped back from the executive team to Spiro’s board of advisors, serving until 2024, and joined Amazon Web Services as a principal product leader. His work there sits at the intersection of generative AI and revenue acceleration — building AI-driven capability aimed at sales productivity and customer engagement, which is recognisably the same problem he spent a decade on at Spiro, at a very different scale. Alongside this he has mentored early-stage companies through Techstars Boston since 2021.
Education
No educational record for Andy Levi could be established from any source reviewed. A previous version of this profile recorded a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana; no source supporting that could be located in this review, so it has been withdrawn rather than repeated. A contact-data aggregator separately lists a Harvard University entry for 2004 to 2006, which appears more likely to be executive education than a degree programme and is not recorded as a qualification.
