Executive Summary

Andrew Bray, known as Andy, is Chief Financial Officer of Sermo, the global community for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Sermo pays its members for their insights and sells those insights to pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. He joined in February 2021, and Sermo’s named senior leadership team consists of two people, chief executive Peter Kirk and Bray. Sermo says his remit is commercial growth and creating revenue opportunities, not only running the books. His background is financial services. He was COO and CFO of the sports and music finance business 23 Capital, and before that he spent more than ten years at the insurer XL Catlin. In early 2026 the Australian competition regulator approved a proposed acquisition of 83% of Sermo by a vehicle controlled by Francisco Partners funds, and Companies House lists Bray as a director of that vehicle.

Professional Journey

Bray studied at Loughborough University, taking a bachelor’s degree in geography and a master’s degree in information technology. He spent more than ten years at XL Catlin, the specialty insurer and reinsurer. There, Sermo says, he grew a profitable book of high-margin business and was responsible for corporate planning initiatives.

He then moved to 23 Capital, a London finance business working in sports and music, as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Sermo says he managed its finance strategy, risk analysis and overall business performance. Companies House records him as a director of 23 Capital Group Limited from July 2018 and of a series of XXIII Capital entities from November 2017. He resigned from all of them in July and August 2020.

He joined Sermo in February 2021. Sermo engages more than 1.3 million healthcare professionals across 150 countries. Physicians discuss cases anonymously with peers, rate medicines and complete paid surveys, and the company turns that engagement into real-time insight for pharmaceutical companies and other healthcare clients. It employs more than 600 people, with offices in New York, London, Barcelona, Vilnius, Puebla, Tokyo and Dalian. Sermo says he was brought in to build on its financial foundation with a focus on commercial growth and new revenue opportunities, and it describes his experience as spanning established and start-up businesses in retail, insurance, financial services and sports and music.

In 2026 Sermo became the subject of a private equity transaction. In January 2026 Sigrun Bidco Limited, controlled by funds advised by Francisco Partners, notified the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission that it would acquire 83% of the shares in Sermo Limited. The ACCC approved it on 20 February 2026. On 27 February 2026 Companies House records Bray and Peter Kirk being appointed directors of Sigrun Bidco. The same day, two US-based directors of Sermo Limited resigned.
