Professional Journey
Amuluru earned a bachelor’s degree at Duke University and a law degree at Northwestern University School of Law. She clerked in the Northern District of Illinois and at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, and began as a commercial litigator, as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and later a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, representing companies in government enforcement actions and litigation.
In government she was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, an associate White House counsel advising senior officials on compliance, oversight and risk, and counselor to the U.S. Attorney General on criminal and law enforcement matters.
She joined Boeing in 2017. From 2018 to 2020 she was vice president and assistant general counsel advising the chief engineer, the chief information officer and manufacturing and supply chain leaders on intellectual property, cybersecurity, supply chain and environment, health and safety. From May 2020 to April 2023 she was chief compliance officer and vice president of global compliance, responsible for Boeing’s ethics and compliance program, and then general counsel of Boeing Defense, Space & Security.
In April 2024 she became executive vice president and chief human resources officer and joined the Executive Council. Boeing builds commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems and provides aerospace services, and employs about 182,000 people, according to the company. Outside Boeing she serves on the board of Legal Aid Chicago and the board of trustees of the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
She is one of several Boeing executive officers trained as lawyers, alongside chief legal officer Brett Gerry and chief financial officer Jay Malave, who holds a law degree from the University of Connecticut.
