Executive Summary

Tim Iori is President and Chief Executive Officer of ProcessBarron, a Pelham, Alabama company that designs, manufactures, installs and repairs air, gas and material handling equipment, including fuel, air and ash handling systems and air pollution control equipment, for heavy industrial plants. He is an operator by background: trained in General Electric’s Operations Management Leadership Program, he joined ProcessBarron as Chief Operating Officer in 2020, became President in 2022 and now runs the business for its private equity owner, Carousel Capital, with long-time leader Ken Nolen as Chairman.

Career Highlights

  • President and Chief Executive Officer of ProcessBarron, a Carousel Capital portfolio company since 2019.
  • Joined ProcessBarron as Chief Operating Officer in 2020 and was promoted to President in 2022.
  • Began his career in General Electric’s Operations Management Leadership Program, going on to roles in operations, quality control, engineering, and plant and general management around the world.
  • Took ProcessBarron into Reworld’s ReCredit Sustainable Partner Program in December 2024, buying carbon offsets towards its net-zero goals.
  • Holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Clemson University and an MBA from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business.

Professional Journey

Iori trained as a chemical engineer at Clemson University and started his career at General Electric in its Operations Management Leadership Program. His subsequent roles, according to ProcessBarron, spanned operations, quality control, engineering, and plant and general management across several countries, and built expertise in global operations, integration, cultural change management, product line strategy and growth strategy. He added an MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.

He joined ProcessBarron in 2020 as Chief Operating Officer. The company had been founded in 1981 as Process Equipment, Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama, and grew by acquisition: Weigel Engineering in 1995, Barron Industries from New York Blower in 2002 (the source of the ProcessBarron name), PE Flo-Tech in 2004, Southern Field in 2007, Environmental Elements Corporation, a large precipitator manufacturer, in 2018, and Precision Manufacturing in 2019. Carousel Capital invested in 2019, the year before he arrived. Integrating those businesses under a single name is the kind of work his background points to; the former Southern Field and Environmental Elements operations now trade exclusively as ProcessBarron.

He was promoted to President in 2022 and, by late 2024, was serving as Chief Executive Officer, with Ken Nolen, who had led the company as President from 2008 and CEO from 2015, moving to Chairman. ProcessBarron today runs more than 150,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 26 field crews across the United States and Canada, serving plants that operate around the clock. “At ProcessBarron, we believe that true innovation lies in our commitment to sustainability,” he said in December 2024, as the company joined Reworld’s ReCredit programme.
