Professional Journey

Pope earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Southwest Missouri State University and an MBA at Lindenwood University. She joined Boeing in 1994, and her career there spans three decades of roles at the corporate, business unit and program levels.

In finance she was vice president of financial planning and analysis for the company from 2013 to 2016, vice president of finance and controller for Boeing Defense, Space & Security in 2016, chief financial officer of Boeing Global Services from 2017 to 2020 and chief financial officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes from December 2020 to March 2022.

In April 2022 she became executive vice president and president and chief executive of Boeing Global Services, which Boeing says she led through its recovery and growth after the pandemic. In January 2024 she became Boeing’s chief operating officer, overseeing supply chain, quality, manufacturing and engineering across the company, and in March 2024 also took over Boeing Commercial Airplanes, focusing on it exclusively from February 2025.

She sits on Boeing’s Executive Council and is executive sponsor of Boeing Women Inspiring Leadership, a business resource group promoting women’s representation. She was an Eisenhower Fellow in Brussels and Ireland. Boeing builds commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems and provides aerospace services, and employs about 182,000 people, according to the company.

She runs one of Boeing’s three businesses, alongside Steve Parker at Defense, Space & Security and Chris Raymond at Global Services, the business she led before him. Chief engineer Howard McKenzie, who leads engineering across the company, was chief engineer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes from 2021 to 2023.
