Professional Journey
Horodyski’s education spans three countries. He earned a Diplom-Kaufmann in international trade and finance at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany, a master’s degree in international political and economic relations and international trade at the Poznan University of Economics in Poland, and a BSc with honours in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has also completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School.
He spent 14 years at the Xella Group, the Duisburg-headquartered manufacturer of building materials, and over his career has led finance and administrative operations in North America, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Russia.
He then joined Clyde Industries, a business with a long lineage in boiler cleaning. Its roots run to Clyde Blowers, a Scottish family firm founded in 1924, and to the German company Hans Bergemann Wärmetechnik; the two combined as Clyde Bergemann, whose US arm built up the Anthony-Ross and Copes Vulcan product lines. Clyde Industries itself was formed in 2019, when Clyde Bergemann Power Group carved out its pulp and paper business and sold it to Wynnchurch Capital, and it expanded in 2020 by acquiring the assets of MidSouth Power and Equipment and establishing an Indian subsidiary. The company now has about 400 employees, with operations in Brazil, China, Indonesia, Finland and Canada.
Horodyski served as the company’s Group Chief Financial Officer. In October 2025 Kadant Inc., the Westford, Massachusetts supplier of industrial processing technology, completed its acquisition of Clyde Industries Holdings and affiliates for $175 million in cash, folding the business into its Industrial Processing segment. Clyde Industries now lists him as Vice President of Finance within its executive management team, which is led by Brent Beachy.
