Sasan Goodarzi is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Intuit, the company behind TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma and Mailchimp. Professional Journey

Goodarzi was born in Tehran and immigrated to the United States as a child. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Central Florida, and his early career was in industrial technology: he co-founded and ran a technology start-up, Lazer Cables Inc., held a number of senior leadership roles in Honeywell’s automation control division, and became global president of the products group at Invensys, the industrial automation, transportation and controls company. Along the way he earned an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

He joined Intuit in 2004 and over the next six years led several of its business units, including Intuit Financial Services and the professional tax division, ProTax. In November 2010 he left to become chief executive of Nexant, a privately held provider of intelligent grid software and clean energy solutions, a role he held for ten months.

He returned to Intuit in August 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Two years later he moved to run the Consumer Tax Group, the TurboTax business, as Senior Vice President and General Manager, and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2015. In May 2016 he took over the Small Business & Self-Employed Group, home of QuickBooks, which gave him responsibility in turn for both of the company’s largest franchises.

He became Chief Executive Officer and President in January 2019, joining the board at the same time. His defining strategic statement was that Intuit would become an AI-driven expert platform, with data and artificial intelligence underpinning its products, and the company has since expanded well beyond its original tax and accounting base. In January 2026 he became Chairman of the Board as well.

Outside Intuit, he served for nearly eight years on the board of Atlassian, from April 2018 to January 2026, chairing its compensation committee. He is a member of the Business Roundtable. With the Pars Equality Center he co-founded the Goodarzi Scholarship Grant, which supports female students of Iranian descent who have recently immigrated to the United States and are studying at California colleges and universities.
