Scudiere attended Bentley University and holds a degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He entered the software industry in 1994 as Director of Technology at Fleet Financial, the New England banking group — an environment where software failures have immediate regulatory and financial consequences, and a useful grounding for the operationally demanding roles that followed.

He moved to SecureWorks, the managed security services company, as Vice President of Engineering and rose to Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Information Officer. Combining engineering leadership with the CIO function is unusual and demanding: managed security is a business in which the vendor’s own infrastructure is a high-value target, so the internal systems and the product are subject to the same adversaries.

He then joined Fuze, the cloud communications company, as Chief Technology Officer, and was subsequently promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer — a move out of a purely technical remit into responsibility for the operating business as a whole. Real-time voice and video at enterprise scale is among the less forgiving categories in cloud software, because quality degradation is immediately perceptible to every user in a way that a slow web application is not.

In March 2022 he joined Verint as Chief Technology Officer, returning to a technology-focused role. Verint operates in customer experience automation, supplying the workforce engagement, interaction recording, analytics, and increasingly AI-driven automation that large contact centres depend on — a business combining very large data volumes, strict compliance and retention requirements, and a customer base migrating from on-premises deployments to cloud.
