Professional Journey

Shah earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy at the University of Florida. He led the startup of the Specialty Pharmacy division at WellCare Health Plans and held other management roles, and was senior vice president of ICORE, a Magellan Health Services company.

He joined CVS Health in 2013 and held leadership positions in its pharmacy benefit management, specialty pharmacy and retail pharmacy businesses. From August 2018 he was Executive Vice President, Specialty and Product Innovation at CVS Caremark. He also had oversight of the company’s Specialty Pharmacy business.

In November 2021 he became Executive Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer, and from January 2022 he also ran the retail business as President of Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness, overseeing the company’s omnichannel pharmacy strategy and more than 9,000 community stores. In November 2024 he became Executive Vice President and Group President. He serves on the board of Red Oak Sourcing.
