Professional Journey

Barber earned a B.S. in Management Information Systems at Northwood University. Earlier in his career he worked in restaurant technology. At Yum! Brands he supported the team that transformed and modernised technology and data systems for KFC in the United States and for Pizza Hut in Australia. At Dunkin’ Brands he helped lead the technology team that rolled out mobile ordering across 9,000 locations.

He then moved into payments as Chief Technology Officer of Airline Report Corporation. There he modernised the technology needed to process billions of dollars in payments each year. His next role was Senior Vice President of Information Technology at United Natural Foods, the natural and organic food distributor. He led its technology portfolio supporting ordering, planning, and customer and supplier management.

Planet Fitness appointed him Chief Information Officer in October 2022, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The company said he would lead its technology evolution and strategy, enhancing the member experience while optimising infrastructure, data and operations for flexibility and scale. On joining, he said he looked forward to partnering across the business to enable growth and exceptional member experiences.

He sits on the executive leadership team presented at the company’s November 2025 Investor Day. Since June 2026 the company’s IT function has sat within the remit of Chief Financial Officer and President, International Sudhanshu Priyadarshi.
