Professional Journey
Finocchi’s association with Modula began in China, when Modula was still part of the Italian System Group. As General Manager of System China, a subsidiary of System S.p.A. originally focused on equipment for the ceramics industry, he was responsible for building Modula’s sales network in China and for System Ceramics across the wider Asian region, including Japan, India and Thailand.
When the group decided to separate the Modula business unit from System China, he was appointed General Manager of Modula China. He led the spin-off, the creation of a new legal entity and the construction of an independent manufacturing facility, and Modula credits him with establishing the brand as a recognised name in the Chinese market.
After a period away, he returned to Modula as Chief Executive Officer of Modula Inc., effective 1 January 2025, with a remit covering operational excellence, innovation and expansion across North America. Marking the appointment, he said he had “always shared with Mr. Franco Stefani a deep commitment to excellence and continuous innovation in production and manufacturing processes.” Modula’s North American operation manufactures in Franklin, Ohio and Lewiston, Maine, part of a group with production plants in Italy, the US and China, twelve subsidiaries and more than 100 dealers worldwide.
In June 2025 he announced a further expansion of the Ohio site, where Modula had invested $26.5 million in 2019: a 170,000 square foot addition to the existing 242,000 square foot building, with construction beginning in February 2025 and a projected investment of more than $36 million. “As demand continues to grow in North America, it’s essential that we scale accordingly,” he said. In March 2026 he launched a partnership placing Modula’s vertical lift technology in the new Butler Tech Aviation Center, describing support for local STEM education as “a cornerstone of our mission.”
